Food Safety and Traceability

We are helping the sector respond to heightened consumer awareness of food safety by supporting the adoption of practices that enhance food safety on farms and in the food and beverage processing industry.

We are also helping producers and processors respond to market demands, and improve product tracking, by supporting facility-level traceability systems.

All cost-share funds are available on a first come, first served basis up to the available annual funds for each year of the program. All cost-share funds for 2009-10 for the Food Safety and Traceability Initiative under Growing Forward have now been committed. The next round of cost-share funding for the Food Safety and Traceability Initiative will be available in 2010. Applicants are encouraged to review program guidelines before submitting their applications.
