Environment and Climate Change

We are encouraging the adoption of environmentally sound practices to improve the quality of our soil, water, air and biodiversity. The Canada-Ontario Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) is an education and awareness program that helps producers assess their farm's environmental strengths and weaknesses.

The Canada-Ontario Farm Stewardship Program (COFSP) offers cost-share opportunities to assist farmers implement environmental improvement projects identified in their EFP action plans. All cost-share funds are available on a first come, first served basis up to the available annual funds for each year of the program.

All cost-share funds under COFSP for 2009-10 have been fully committed. The next round of cost-share funding for the Canada-Ontario Farm Stewardship Program will be available in 2010.

Before producers can access cost-share funding under COFSP, they must complete an EFP workshop. To sign up for an EFP workshop in your area, please click here.
