Ontario Bee Health Working Group

In July 2013, Ontario brought together a group of experts to support the development and/or implementation of strategies to mitigate the risk to honey bees from exposure to neonicotinoid seed treatments on corn and soybeans, acknowledging that a crucial milestone is the 2014 planting season.

The Bee Health Working Group – composed of beekeepers, farmers, agri-business representatives, scientists, and staff from both federal and provincial government – drew on a broad range of expertise, to provide options for solutions to achieve this goal.

The Ontario Bee Health Working Group submitted their 2013 Report to Kathleen Wynne, Premier and Minister of Agriculture and Food, on March 19, 2014.
