In comparison, European corn borer larvae are whitish to off-white with small dark spots on each body segment. The head is brown to black. They have 3 pairs of true legs and 5 pairs of prolegs. Larvae reach up to 2.5 cm (1 in.) in length. Frass is present at the entry hole and within the fruit.
