Site of Action: Inhibitors of acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase)
Symptoms
Following PRE emergent application:
- The growth of the primary root is inhibited and leaves fail to emerge
Following POST emergent application:
- Young, rapidly growing tissues are the first to exhibit symptoms
- Within a few days growth is inhibited
- Within 1- 3 weeks chlorosis and necrosis occur
- Older leaves may change colour to purple, orange, or red before undergoing necrosis
- Leaf sheaths turn brown and mushy
Uptake and Translocation
- Absorbed by foliage
- Translocated upward and downward in the plant

- Half-life: 5 days
