Site of Action: Inhibitors of acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase), also known as “Grass Growing Point Disintegrators”
Symptoms
Systemic. Injury on grass plants only. Newer leaf tissue will be yellow (chlorotic) or brown (necrotic) and the leaves in the whorl will be easily pulled out. Symptoms develop slowly.
Uptake and Translocation
- Uptake through the foliage.
- Translocated through both the phloem and xylem throughout the plant accumulating in the meristemic regions.
Persistence
- Rapid degradation in both soil and water with no soil activity.
