Wind, hail and pelting rain

Weather can cause serious injury to onions throughout the growing season.  Wind early in the season can blow out seedlings.  Later in the season, heavy winds can cause premature lodging.  Hail can shred a crop in a matter of minutes.  Pelting rain drops cause whitish spots on leaves and leave plants susceptible to foliage diseases.
