RACCOON Damage
Identification
Raccoons strip all berries off all of the clusters that they can reach. They will leave scats on the ground where they feed. They leave distinctive footprints on the vineyard floor. They prefer early red and small berry cultivars.
Management Notes
Low electric fencing comprised of 2 to 4 wires, the bottom one at 10-12 cm and the top wire at 20-25 cm height, around the perimeter of the vineyard is effective for keeping raccoons out of the vineyard.
