This is a picture of Verticillium wilt. Notice the V-shape characteristic of Verticillium wilt.

If you suspect bacterial wilt, cut the infected runner close to the crown; touch the two cut surfaces together, slowly drawing them apart. Under humid conditions the bacteria will cause sticky strands to appear between the cut ends.
