Oedema

Warty, pale yellow or tan growths (2- 10 mm, 1/12- 2/5 in.) develop on the fruit of gourds, pumpkins and squash. Oedema is often associated with dry conditions during fruit sizing and maturity. The lesions commonly appear where the fruit rests on the soil surface.

Irrigate to avoid dry soil conditions. Plastic mulch or a rye mulch may reduce the incidence of this problem.
