Test Your Knowledge - Asparagus

Oval-shaped orange-coloured lesion

1. What is this disease?

You’re right!

Answer: This is a picture of asparagus rust. The slightly sunken appearance of the lesion indicates an older infection, however there are fresh orange-coloured spores at the edge of the lesion. Stemphylium produces a slightly sunken lesion with a fine purple border.
