Asparagus
Commercial asparagus fields have a life expectancy of 15-20 years. Massive underground storage roots hold the reserves required for the next season’s harvest and beyond. Pest pressure, especially during the early years of establishment, can have a significant impact on short term yields as well as the long term productivity of a plantation. Good pest control relies upon early and accurate identification of insect and disease problems both above and below the soil surface.
