Can you identify which insect pest is causing this damage seen in an apple orchard?

Damage to leaf - rolling and purple discolouration

That's right!

This damage is caused by the leafcuring midge. Leaves are curled and folded similar to leafroller damage. However, leafcurling midge causes leaves to become discoloured (red or purple), and brittle, and there is no webbing associated with the damage.
